This is an extremely high quality genuine antique French 19th century ( mid 1800s ) upright single door display cabinet of exceptional quality and style.
The cabinet is finished in exotic prestigious imported highly figured Amboyna imported from the Ambon Islands. in Indonesia and is further embellished with fine quality carved applied Mahogany moldings and other embellishments with a strong Louis XV influence with the carved ‘S’ and ‘C’ shaped scrolls.
At the top of the cornice is a three sided crown of carved Anthemions which is a classic Greek influence consisting of a number of radiating petals from a central stem forming a fan shape. it was developed by the ancient Greeks from the Egyptian and Asiatic form known as the honeysuckle or Lotus palm.
Internally the single large glazed door reveals an interior with multiple adjustable full width shelves with a double reeded edge molding and below is a deep full width Oak lined Drawer with a pull out slide. The cabinet is complete with its original key and the whole interior including the shelves and inside of the door are polished such is the quality of this piece and the attention to detail.
Condition: Excellent original considering age and use. Once purchased prior to collection we will have the cabinet cleaned, detailed and wax polished.
