Antique English Later Georgian bow front Mahogany Chest of Drawers.

A$2,850.00

This is a very good quality and better than average Chest of drawers. It is a genuine antique English Georgian bow fronted Chest of Drawers made in the George IV period between 1820 and 1830.

The chest has been made by craftsmen from prestigious and imported Central American Mahogany of excellent figuring.

The chest has a stylish and elegant bow shaped front which is more difficult to make than a straight fronted chest and has several excellent and desirable features. The top has a double horizontal reeded edge molding and on each front corner is a circular engaged full height pilaster which are beautifully spiral reeded At the top and bottom are turnings reminiscent of the earlier stylised Tulips. The pilasters are supported on bulbous bun feet with upper triple ring turnings.

There are five drawers in all being two top smaller side by side drawers and below are three graduated in depth full width drawers. All are Oak lined, have perimeter cock bead molding, original brass locks, key hole escutcheons and circular drawer pull handles on circular backing plates.

Condition: Photographed as is with some minor attention required to some cock bead molding and minor veneer work. This will all be professionally attended to and included in the price so there will be nothing extra to spend.

Size: Width 115cm x Depth 53cm x Height 107cm.

Price : Was to be $3,495 refurbished in our showroom however can be purchased at our warehouse price of $2,850 - fully refurbished.

Sellers Observation: A very superior quality Chest of Drawers that once would have graced a high end Bedroom. Will be ‘top shelf’ once refurbished.
