This is a very good genuine antique English Davenport Desk from about the 1870s. It is extremely well made and beautifully finished in selected highly decorative light to medium honey coloured figured Walnut and then further embellished with Satinwood and Ebony line inlays to the superstructure stationary compartment lid, desk writing surface lid and lower front panel.

At the top is a hinged lid with a three sided brass gallery which when opened reveals a fitted ink and stationary compartment. Beneath the hinged writing surface lid is a larger stationary compartment and a pair of small drawers. One side has a bank of four full width stacked drawers with turned draw pull knobs while the other side has faux drawers.

The whole has been professionally fully restored at considerable expense even down to the green gold tooled inset leather writing surface.
