This is a very good genuine 19th century antique English Victorian period example of a combination piece of furniture i.e. a two height Bookcase with a cylinder Desk in the frieze section. Also it is a rarer example of its type as most are finished in Mahogany however this one is finished in beautiful ‘honey’ coloured very decorative highly figured Walnut which is also ‘book leaf’ matched.

The cornice is nicely profiled and like both the upper cabinet and lower cabinet and base the front corners are nicely rounded’

The upper Display Cabinet has a rectangular pair of glazed doors which reveal an interior with several adjustable full width shelves. The lower Storage Cabinet has timber panelled doors and a full width shelf within. The whole is supported on a shaped plinth base.

The frieze section has a cylinder which rolls back to reveal a superb pull out desk with a very well fitted interior and gold tooled inset leather writing surfaces’.

Condition: Near excellent for age and use. We have to replace a brass keyhole escutcheon and provide keys.
