Antique English early Victorian Walnut framed Lounge / Salon Bergere Chair.

This is a very good high quality genuine antique English 19th century mid Victorian period circa 1950 show timber Walnut framed Bergere ( enclosed arms ) lounge or salon chair which some one has spent considerable amount of money on re upholstering and re covering. The back is diamond buttoned and the seat is sprung for maximum comfort.

The shaped and carved embellished show timber solid Walnut frame is in the ‘classic’ French Louis XV manner with a lovely curved and flowing style. The chair is very well proportioned and elegantly shaped with refined carved embellishments including carved shoulders, boldly scrolled hand grips, a serpentine shaped front seat rail with central floral carved panel and cabriole legs with carved knees which flow down to the original all brass castor assemblies.

Condition: Excellent.
