This very stylish Georgian revival antique / vintage ‘Wing back’ chair is made in the early 20th century in the 18th century manner. Although antique in its own right it is a quality replica of a lounge chair from the early George III period. This chair has the perfect proportion, style and detail of a genuine antique English high quality 18th century Georgian style Wing Chair.

These chairs were often used as fire side chairs and the ‘wings’ on the back were to protect ones face from the direct exposure to the heat from the fire..

The legs are the ‘crowning glory’ as they are beautifully carved cabriole legs with folate carved knees and carved hairy animal paw feet.

Condition: Frame is excellent. The fabric is ok. however the chair would look fantastic if reupholstered and brass studded.

Sellers Observation: Genuine period Georgian chairs like this cost thousands. This one is also antique however not quite as old but much less expensive and has the best features of a superior original. Just look at the front legs and look at the carved detail in the foliate carved and scrolled knees plus the ‘hairy paw ‘feet. This is a decorators delight.
