This is a very good example of a genuine antique French Bronze Candelabra from the early 1800s era of Napoleon Ist.

It is very heavy for its size being cast from solid bronze s. Some sections are finished in ‘gilt dore’ and the whole stands on a square Bronzeplatform base with applied cast gilt lion paw corner positioned feet.

interestingly this item still has the price ticket to the front of the base from when it was purchased in the 1980s in Queen Street Woollahra from Sydneys then leading dealer in antiques from the 18th century and early 1800s for $4,500.

Condition: Very Good. A small ‘pineapple’ shaped piece is missing so we will have a replacement cast by a leading jewellery casting house.
