Antique English Georgian Pair of Bronze and Ormolu Cassolettes in the French taste. England late 18th Century

An exquisite and very rare pair of genuine Antique English George III last quarter of the 1700s Bronze with applied Gilt embellishments CASSOLETTES of egg form supported on a tripod formation comprising of Goat heads at the top and Goat feet at the circular base. which in turn is embellished with two circles of gilt rope design applied cast moldings. The lid and the base of the egg shaped container have applied gilt Acanthus leaf decoration and the lids are further embellished by gilt finials.

The Cassolettes convert from Lidded Urns when not required into Candle Holders when required by inverting the top sections. They display a very strong French Louis XV Rococo influence

These, along with the William France Secretaire Bookcase, a small George III Pembroke Table and a few other extra special pieces are probably among the best thing currently in the collection.

Condition: Excellent for age ‘untouched’ original condition.
