Antique English Georgian Set of 6 simulated Rosewood Dining Chairs
Antique English Georgian Set of 6 simulated Rosewood Dining Chairs
These are a very good set of genuine antique, English William IV, set of six Dining Chairs in 'hand grained' simulated Rosewood. Due to the war with France it was difficult to import Rosewood from the Central Americas so chairs were made from local Deal, coloured and hand painted to simulate the desirable and prestigious grain in Rosewood and these are six of those chairs. The chairs have a ’show timber’ frame with a refined and curved top rail with shallow carved embellishments and a rolled top edge. The curved and carved opposed ‘S’ scrolled embellished waist rail is low however this allows for a horizontal, padded and upholstered panel for extra comfort. The front legs are turned, reeded and downward tapered while the rear legs are of saber form.
Condition: The chairs are structurally sound but they would benefit from a general refurbishment and recovering to taste which we can organise to be professionally done vand all at a trade price..
Size: Width: 50 cm x D: 45 cm x Height 87cm.
Price: Were $2,695 the set however now reduced to $2,275 the set of six.
