This is a lovely quality and most useful piece of stylish furniture. It was made in France during the 1930s Art Deco period and blends some slight Deco influences with the Traditional 19th century style. This Etagere comprised of basically an oval table with a raised oval tier with a removable serving tray The tray is oval and Mahogany framed with cross banding detail, has cast gild decorative carry handles at both ends and a bevelled glass base. The lower section is also oval is finished with an outer cross banding and line inlay plus a book leaf matched rare Amboyna centre panel. there is a gilt brass edge molding around the whole perimeter. There are four cast bronze gilt āSā shaped scrolled supports for the upper tray tier. The apron is crossbanded and line inlaid so as to compliment the table top surface and is embellished with a classic motif applied front and rear gilt Bronze decorative panels and the arpon flows into the four elegant shaped and tapered cabriole legs which have cast and gild decorative toe sabots.
