This is an unusual and most decorative genuine antique 19th century ( probably French circa 1840s ) profusely carved now aged and mellowed Walnut ‘X’ framed ‘Curule’ Stool with an upholstered top covered in black leather and finished with individual brass studding. The frame features well carved lion heads at either end at the intersection of the X frame and where the turned and carved stretcher is.there are also scrolled feet, scrolls and carved flowers ‘bracing’ the cross frame members.

Beneath the feet are small barrel shaped brass castor assemblies.

Condition: Frame - aged and full of character. Upholstery - excellent.
