This is a superior quality example of a genuine antique English well figured and nicely coloured prestigious Rosewood ‘show timber’ framed Stool from around the 1850s with a lift off upholstered top.

The quality base is very much made in the decorative French Louis XV manner with its ‘S’ scrolled apron with applied carved moldings, cabriole shaped legs with raised foliate carvings to the knees and terminating in French scrolled toes.

The upholstered top lifts off for an easy change of fabric.

Condition: Base excellent original. The upholstered top requires recovering due to a hole in the fabric.
