Antique English George III late 1700s Cuban Mahogany Occasional Table / Wine Table.

A$3,475.00

This is a very good example of a genuine George III later 18th century (1700s) Tilt top Occasional Table / Wine Table / Lamp Table crafted out of the ‘king’ of Mahoganies ie Cuban Mahogany.

The top tilts and is made from one board ie no joins and has a scalloped and pie crust top. The column is elegant and well turned featuring a ring turning and a lower spiral reeded carved ‘urn’ shape. From the upright cylinder base flow three cabriole shaped legs in a tripod formation and end in ‘snake head’ feet. The knees have raised carved stylised shell and foliate embellishments.

It is the quality and detail that makes this a superior piece compared to others.
