Antique English Regency / Georgian circa 1820 Mahogany tilt top Occasional Table.

This is a very superior quality example of a genuine Antique English Regency period / Georgian period circa 1820 Tilt top Occasional Table made from the finest quality magnificantly figured imported prestigious Mahogany of lovely colour.

The top is rectangular with rounded corners, a double reeded edge molding and a shallow apron with a lower raised edge molding The centre support column is nicely turned and well profiled. From the cylindrical base flow four compass point positioned downward and outward swept tapered legs. The legs are embellished with an unusual and rare stepped section and have full length panels with raised edge moldings. The legs terminate in their superbly cast and detailed all brass sabots with their original all brass castor assemblies beneath. The toe caps or sabots feature a rare Egyptianesque influenced leaf motif.
