This is a lovely example of a rustic finished genuine antique which is in the revival style of a piece centuries earlier.
Superbly made made by master craftsmen in the early 1900s in the Elizabethan manner / Renaissance manner. and aged so as to give it credibility. so it could comfortably blend in with genuine period pieces.
The rectangular top comprises of only two very wide nicely figured boards with traditional wide ‘bread board’ ends. The recessed Apron is profusely carved on all four sides with geometric motifs.
The table is supported on four corner positioned well turned legs each with a large feature bulbous turning which has reeded lobs at the top and foliate carving below
The whole is supported on a “ classic ‘H’ shaped stretcher base which has the appearance of being well worn.
Condition: Over all very good for age. The apron and the base are both excellent however there is a shrinkage gap between the two boards on the top. This can be easily rectified and we can organise for the rectification at a trade price should a purchaser wish the work to be done.
