Coffee Tables did not really exist prior to the early 1900s so this piece probably from the 1920s is an interpretation of what an antique French Louis Xv coffee table could have looked like if they had existed during his reign. it may also have started life as a bench seat with an upholstered top and could easily be converted back to such if preferred.

The rectangular solid Mahogany base is very well made and shaped and is profusely and accurately embellished with raised finely carved French motifs of the Louis XV period .

The table is supported on six elegant shaped and tapered Cabriole legs once again with high quality well carved decorative detailing.

Currently the top comprises of a woven floral tapestry under glass and with a nicely molded timber frame.
