Antique English George III Mahogany Pembroke Table circa 1780's

This is a rare and absolutely original ‘untouched’ high quality example, genuine, Antique English George III Pembroke Table hand made made in the later 18th century about 1775. The table is of rare serpentine form and the drop flaps when up form the unusual ‘Butterfly’ shape. The squared and downward tapered legs terminate in applied ‘spade’ feet in the Thomas Sheraton manner. The Table is constructed from selected cuts of very well figured imported Honduran Mahogany. The top is feature veneered with a cross banded central oval in flame mahogany. The table is also cross banded on the perimeter of the top and around the drawers plus has frieze Fruitwood coloured inlays. There is a frieze drawer at one end and a faux drawer at the other end with original Brass drawer pulls. This piece is of museum quality and has never been restored. We can arrange professional conservation at an additional cost upon sale.

Condition: Currently in the as is aged condition that it has come to us in however we can have it professionally conserved / restored if required.

Sellers Observation: Butterfly shaped table leaves are rare due to all the extra work involved and this is a very good one due to the inlaid oval panel and cross banding..
