This is a lovely genuine Antique English Georgian Regency period table from the early 1800s and was essentially a Breakfast and Supper Table however it is more likely to serve these days as a Dining Table in a smart compact apartment or modern town house.
The Table is well crafted from solid cuts of imported prestigious Central American Mahogany which is extremely well figured and now of lovely mellowed colour. The rectangular ‘tilt’ top is desirably made from a single extremely well figured wide board and has a curved edge molding. The centre pedestal is well turned and has a large ‘vase’ shaped section which is profusely embellished with quality Acanthus foliate decorative carving above a spiral reeded turning. From the small upright cylindrical base flow three reeded, tapering down ward and outward swept reeded ‘sabre’ legs in tripod formation which terminate in decorative cast brass toe caps with all brass castor assemblies beneath.
Condition: All in desirable original mellowed condition.
