This is a good example of a high quality genuine antique English Georgian Sofa Table which make excellent Side Tables which are versatile due to the drop leaves at either end.

This table is rectangular in form and is made from heavy well figured prestigious imported Central American Mahogany. The top has rounded corners, a curved edge molding and has a feature cross banded border also in Mahogany.

The frieze section has a pair of side by side drawers each with cock bead molding, original brass locks and keyhole escutcheons and a pair of turned mushroom shaped drawer pull knobs. The rear details mirror the front except the drawers are faux.

The top section is supported by three well turned supports at either end which sit on rectangular bases whichis embellished with turned patera. Below are shaped and tapered sabre legs with brass toe caps that are complete with their original all brass castor assemblies beneath. The bases are connected by a later turned stretcher for extra stability. if professionally attended to it may be successfully removed.

Condition: Over all very good however there is a shrinkage gap between two boards in the top and this is perfectly fixable if a purchaser wants the Table professionally refurbished / conserved which we can have professionally done and at a trade price..
